| Description | Please join us for a fun-filled day, rain or shine, in the park! Beginning at 10am, RI Pagan Pride Day will be held this year at Slater Park’s Daggett Farm Festival Area, in a tree-lined field offering plenty of shade, abundant parking, the Petting Zoo and a fabulous children’s playground. The field is next to the permanent food concession stands offering seafood, ice cream and other treats. There are many picnic tables, but we also encourage you to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets. The perimeters of the field will be filled with dozens of merchants offering art, beautiful crafts, home made items such as candles, herbal remedies and pagan ritual tools like carved wooden wands, statuary for your sacred garden, garb for special occasions, books, crystals, and everything you could possibly desire to augment your home or altar! Please check out the Merchants section of our website for more details on vendors and readers – we will be updating it as the festival approaches. We are offering twenty or more workshops on a variety of topics, from beginner to advanced levels of complexity. Workshops will all be held under spacious tents in each of the four directions, North, East, South and West. Children under 12 are welcome to join the KidWitch Academy, which will be held under its own spacious tent near music, bathrooms, food concessions and the playground. Under the supervision of an adult and two or more teen helpers, children will be able to decorate their own magic wands, Native American dream catchers, and dream pouches. There will also be coloring supplies, snacks and drinks. For this we have a supply fee of $5.00 per child. At the end of the day, our Equinox Ritual will be held in the center grove between all the tents. This will be the culmination of Pagan Pride Day and all are welcome to participate in this gentle celebration of the harvest and blessings of the earth. For your entertainment, we are delighted to present talented musicians from near and far. They include Kristi Martel, Kellianna, Jana Runalls, Jenna Greene and Skatha. This year RIPPD will be raising money to benfit SAVE THE BAY. The mission of Save The Bay is to ensure that the environmental quality of Narragansett Bay and its watershed is restored and protected from the harmful effects of human activity. |
